Is fluoride so toxic that, in addition to being a major ingredient in pest and plant pesticides, is it also an active ingredient used to control and manipulate people to establish the New World Order? No, that's not true: Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that people add to water, food, and other products. It is generally safe for human consumption when used and consumed in appropriate amounts. Experts say that only in high doses, fluoridated tap water or toothpaste consumption is toxic. There is no scientific evidence that fluoride is used to manipulate human mind.
The claim appeared in a TikTok video (archived here) published on August 1, 2023 and titled "Water fluoridation is one of the ugliest manipulations! Fluoride in water and toothpaste is dangerous!" with the following description translated by the Bulgarian Lead Stories staff:
Most people don't know that the type of fluoride added to water supplies in some countries, in toothpastes, beverages and foods is usually a waste product from the nuclear, aluminum, and phosphate (fertilizer) industries. Fluoride is so toxic that, in addition to being a major ingredient in rat and cockroach poisons, pest and plant pesticides, it is also an active ingredient in anesthetics, hypnotics, and psychiatric drugs, as well as nerve gas used by the military.

The video is an excerpt from the Bulgarian Etv show "No Format" with the title "The Hidden War on Health." The TikTok version is considerably shorter than the original interview with Dr. Atanas Galabov claiming that fluoride added to water and toothpaste is very toxic. At the 01:52 mark, Dr. Galabov says:
Fluoride can cause tooth stains, yellow spots, bone cancer, brittle bones. The more fluorine, the more probability for that. Stiffness in the joints, all sorts of cancers. This is very well known and there is a reason why they tried to fluoridate the water in some countries. Very few countries in the world have fluoridated water as far as I know, some states in the USA and some other countries, in Sweden they removed it many years ago. Fluoride is a compound and it anesthetizes that part of the brain that prevents a person from resisting tyranny. Therefore, a person who takes small doses of fluoride will have a much harder time resisting this New World Order that they are cooking up for us.
Social media users in Bulgaria have been sharing the false claim that fluoride in water and toothpaste is toxic for human health and fluoridated water suppresses the emotions to turn people into obedient and submissive citizens.
Experts say the claim is false. Matt Hopcraft, an associate professor at the Melbourne Dental School, told AFP via email on November 24, 2020, that one would have to consume very high levels of toothpaste and tap water for the fluoride in it to be toxic:
Tap water in Australia where it is fluoridated is generally around 1 part per million (ppm), so a 250ml glass of water would have 0.25mg fluoride. An adult would need to drink 1400 glasses to reach a toxic dose! An infant would need to drink 200 glasses.
To reach a toxic dose for a 10kg infant, they would need to eat half a tube of adult toothpaste. The toxicity warning on the label is related to that level of consumption - it's not saying that the normal amount of toothpaste is toxic.
The American Dental Association has a publication called Fluoridation Facts which is their premier resource on fluoridation. It answers frequently asked questions about community water fluoridation and the latest scientific research. The book dispels common myths that fluoridation is dangerous and provides science-backed information based on the most current research:
- Fact: Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that is found in varying amounts in all water sources. The fluoride used for water fluoridation is derived from phosphate rock, which is also used to produce fertilizers. The fluoride is purified and tested to meet strict standards before being added to water.
- Fact: There is no credible scientific evidence that fluoride causes cancer or any other adverse health effects at the levels used for water fluoridation. Numerous studies have confirmed the safety and effectiveness of fluoride for preventing tooth decay. The most comprehensive review of fluoride's health effects was conducted by the National Research Council in 2006, which concluded that there is no clear association between fluoride and cancer, IQ, thyroid function, kidney function, bone health, or any other adverse outcome.
- Fact: Fluoride in water provides a constant low level of fluoride in the mouth that helps prevent tooth decay throughout the day. Fluoride in toothpaste and mouth rinses is only effective for a short time after brushing or rinsing. Studies have shown that water fluoridation reduces tooth decay by 25% over and above the benefits of fluoride toothpaste and other sources.
- Fact: Fluoride is not a medication, but a nutrient that is essential for dental health. Adding fluoride to water is similar to adding iodine to salt, vitamin D to milk, or folic acid to bread and cereals. These are all examples of public health measures that improve the health and well-being of the population. Water fluoridation is endorsed by more than 100 national and international health organizations, including the World Health Organization, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
There is no scientific evidence that fluoride is used to manipulate human mind. The most scientific and health organizations agree that there is no evidence that it causes any adverse health effects when consumed at the recommended levels.
